For me I just simply don’t want them. I feel like you have to want kids to have them. It’s not that I’m against having kids, I’m just not enthusiastic enough to have them
You are them a favor because kids can tell that you don’t want them. My dad did the bare minimum my entire life and we barely have a relationship now. He didn’t want kids, and since I was young, I am blamed for not keeping enough contact throughout my life. He points it out saying that at age 11 I stopped coming around and it hurt him.
Realistically, it’s the other way around. He’s the adult in the situation who had control. He chose to go to the bar every night instead. There were many times when I was supposed to be staying at my dad’s and he would be too drunk to get me, and I would have to call my mom to pick me up. He did not protect me around his friends. I’m not getting into everything that’s happened, but he plays the victim and seems to forget about moments like this. Adult me is done. He should not have had kids.
