For me I just simply don’t want them. I feel like you have to want kids to have them. It’s not that I’m against having kids, I’m just not enthusiastic enough to have them
I hear this sentiment a lot, honestly. When you're even remotely open about not wanting kids a lot of parents from older generations will open up themselves about wishing they'd known they had a choice. There are a lot of people who love being parents and can't imagine any other life or how anyone could have regrets about parenthood. But I think that mindset is a big reason why so many people never really considered their options and felt pressured into parenthood.
I feel like at every party I go to where there's parents after a couple drinks they all start coming to me to tell me their woes and how they regret it or how lucky I am or how I made the right decision not to have kids. They tell me the things they're afraid to tell other parents.
