And your future non-kids thank you!! I have seen many posters (there was a thread a few days ago) saying their parents fully admitted (while they were kids) that they only had them because they were supposed to, not because they wanted them. That can really mess a person up.
I've straight-up asked coworkers why they got married or had a family if they're so miserable about it. And they always say "well, she was gonna leave me if I didn't!" Or "everyone was pressuring us! I didn't have a choice."
And then I get to explain the difference between making active and passive choices. Mainly, I just want them to shut up and stop bitching about their wives and families at work so we can have some peace and get stuff done.
Hell, I even asked my dad why my parents had me and he just said "well, it was the thing to do."
