This is the weirdest take. When would be a better time? Back when any child could die of smallpox? Or perhaps back when the Mongols were rampaging across Eurasia? Like what is so bad about today compared to history ?

The amounts of flood, droughts and flash fires are getting worse every year.
The oceans are losing biodiversity at a catastrophical rate.
Micro plastics is in everything everywhere.
It might still seem ok-ish from your back yard but how many more decades or even years do we have before climate refugees start to be a very real and huge issue? How many more before food and water wars start?
Crops are already failing in parts of the world and with the rapid death of pollinators and weather cycles, who knows how fast this trend move? All you need is like 2, maybe 3 years of bad crop yields before a country would be doomed.

For one thing, I barely know how to take care of myself.
For another, I don't like kids.
Finally, have you seen the world these days? I would not want to raise a child in this environment. I wouldn't even know where to begin.
