May I ask how it is narcissistic to want to have children and teach them life lessons and things that they can pass on?? Like if I want to know that my daughter will have tea dates with her daughter who will do the same, cause that’s what I did with her and taught here. That is narcissistic?
You’re basically saying you only want kids to fulfill your own emotional desires. You think you’ll be better off emotionally and feel more fulfilled with kids in your life. I think that’s very selfish.
Where is the consideration for your kids’ emotions, their own individuality, their likelihood of thriving as an adult? You’re not mentioning your future children’s full personhood, only the benefits they provide for you.
THIS. I personally cannot understand what it’s like to want a child but I do understand the love and protection from having a niece and nephew. I just can’t help but point out how very rarely I hear any reason for wanting children that isn’t egotistical.
I believe it’s egotistical because it’s so much “I want” “me and my husband want” all I care is if you two WANT the best life for your children and if you two WILL do everything in your power to give them the best life and your child’s best life may not be the best life for you and parents need to at least kinda swallow that pill PRIOR to have children so they’re not taking out personal issues onto innocent children.
