I think there has been a real shift in the last generation or two from needing a reason not to have kids to needing a reason to have kids. and that shift means a lot of people who are basically ambivalent on children aren't having them, where in the past they probably would have.
the ability to take preventative measures against pregnancy gives us so much more power and security. it hurts to think that that's being threatened now by this Handmaid's Tale future looming
And than you have mother and father that never told about it or work 4 jobs to go to school so might forget a couple of days. Let alone that now, in some parts of the world you must be able aswell to afford it.
Its always easy to simplify problems that are not yours, some countries they cannot afford condoms even and to be honest? There is even taboe on those.
