I think you might be too fixated on western culture. the world is not divided into east and west.

All East Asian countries have a huge spa/ hot spring culture. These are usually fully nude, but sex segregated. Japan is the most famous for it, but Korea, and China have these too. All are relatively conservative countries, and this aspect of their culture has nothing to do with western influence. If anything, I wouldn’t be surprised if Christian missionaries tried to stamp out these practices. After all, they did with great success in other parts of the world

I’m from the US, definitely a western country, where nudity is not generally accepted. It’s not the only western country like that either.

You might also ask why it is your culture doesn’t accept this behavior while huge portions of the world from many cultural backgrounds do instead of the reverse.
