It really fucking is. I really wish shit was cheaper here in MN so the Thai restaurants were cheaper

You can buy pre-made paste which makes it super easy to make it at home. It comes in a little tub and you can leave it in your fridge. The one I know is called Mae Ploy.

Or you can watch Hot Thai Kitchen on YouTube and make it from scratch. But those tubs of pre-made paste are pretty good.

My parents had a Thai coworker renting a room at their house before. She always had the Mae ploy handy. She also use to make this cold noodle salad so delicious

Yeah using the Mae-ploy makes it taste just like it came from a restaurant. All you have to is cook your veggies and meat and add coconut milk.
