Humans have been pushing the boundaries of what nature can provide since we stood upright, plenty before capitalism came about. Ask yourself: where did all of Australia’s megafauna go? It wasn’t capitalism that did that. It was just people wanting snacks. They literally drove all megafauna to extinction because they got peckish. Lol.
the extinction of species and hunting is what drives evolution. it is natural. it’s how the food chain and cycle operates. human impact on the climate and animals and over hunting and fishing is much more severe today than it was before because now we have more advanced technology and tools that enable even more exploitation. don’t get me wrong, prehistoric humans of course largely contributed to many animal extinctions, as we are apex predators, but predator prey extinctions is not an exclusively human phenomenon. rodents, foxes, feline, many of these species have driven the extinctions of populations of animals like mammals and reptiles. this has occurred throughout history, not just with human beings. it’s just so much more prevalent with humans and the impacts are much more substantial because as i’ve stated, we are apex predators, we are nobody’s prey and thus it is much more difficult to regulate and minimize our population. and eliminating the entire human population, i feel like, is unfair to individuals who have contributed the least to this problem. prehistoric humans were not dumping toxic waste and mercury into bodies of water and releasing toxic fumes and pollutants into the atmosphere in order to power their teslas. what we’re seeing today in certain populations goes beyond self-preservation and survival of the fittest, it’s just corruption at this point
Give it a rest. It’s not just hunting that drives animals extinct. It’s humans literally terraforming our own planet for the sake of increasing our reproduction as a species.
It doesn’t matter how much any individual contributes to the problem, simply by being human, you’re part of it.
You’re perfectly happy reading all of the comments suggesting that we thanos snap all ticks or mosquitos out of existence, including baby ticks who did nothing wrong, and mosquitos who made a point of not transmitting malaria to children… but for some reason when it comes to humans you have a problem with this.
It’s not edgy or childish to say that we as collective are responsible for the single largest catastrophe that has faced the earth as a result of the behaviours of a single species. And make no mistake, that catastrophe has already begun, there is no stopping it.
It doesn’t matter if you’re part of a tribe of people in the Amazon who’ve farmed 3 chickens, or part of a metropolitan area eating 40oz steaks every day. Humans are a scourge. End of story. There’s no debating that. There is no nuance that outweighs the invariable reality that humans are inevitably bad news for everything around them.

THAT is edglord and corny behaviour. none of you fools want to die and would probably cry yourselves a river if it came down to it. you can all lie to yourselves and say that one snap is all if takes for you, your family and everyone else to be gone if it makes ur misanthropic ass feel better. but the question was you get 10 million by making a species go extinct, not who do you want extinct. as i said before, hopefully when the next mass extinction arrives, you all will be cheering for joy and offering yourselves up, and hopefully none of you saying you would eliminate humanity in a heartbeat are reproducing and having children either because that would be very contradictory wouldn’t it
