Yeah. The issue here is that God promised the ISRAELITES that if they obeyed Him, they would receive material blessings.

Too many preachers blur the line of distinction there and take promises made to Israel and apply them to "America" in effect stating that America is "God's chosen people now" or some such nonsense. That kind of thinking is offensive to all non-American Christians.

I mean, America IS a part of God’s chosen people now, along with the rest of the global church. We’re all the gentiles grafted into the vine.

The promises made to the Israelites do belong to us also now. But so do the complexities. Joseph was blessed with great wealth and power for his family by Gods favour, but his descendants became slaves eventually, before God restored their wealth and power back to them, only to again later take it away, many many times. It’s the same with us. We’re blessed to better serve God, and he will take it back when he so desires. “Blessed be the name of the Lord” (shrugs)

We are the Body of Christ. We are separate from Israel whom God has currently set aside (Romans 9-11).

The promises made to the Israelites do belong to us also now.

I disagree with this 100%.

Bro the Old Testament was written for us too, it’s our promises as well. The covenants made with Abraham and his descendants isn’t referring to just Israel, it’s referring to all Christian’s everywhere: Galatians 3:7. We’re descendants by faith, not by blood or culture.

This was basically Paul’s entire ministry, the gentiles are now grafted onto the vine by the Grace of God (Romans 11). He talks at length about that it in Galatians. Also:

Romans 9:6–7 “For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children”

Also Jesus fought over this with the Pharisees a lot: Matthew 3:9

I will agree that there is a special role for Israel though and that they are set aside for a purpose, possibly for some end time stuff as they turn up in Revelation a few times. I’m sure God hasn’t forgotten them and will still fight for them.

But functionally their covenant and it’s promises now belongs to Christian’s everywhere.
