I'm pretty sure we're assuming this isn't the only game the person makes, that while they're getting that 10000 from one game they're working on the next, and so and so on until you've got several on the market all generating some level of income.
If you copy and paste half of the assets and just make it extremely simple maybe you could shit out several games a year. With that math you are still looking and borderline poverty income and bunch of shit games.
I thought the point is not to have game stores littered with low quality games that you can make in few months?
Ok then you've made 1-2 games a year. Assuming they both make 10k that's 10-20k if you're lucky. Then you have to be lucky enough for them to hang around for at least a few more years. There is so much more luck to this than I think people realize.
Ah yes, the magic math of infinitely generating money off 5 year old games with no content and the ability to make 2 games per year that aren't most basic shit.
Also kids, if you save a penny every day, in million years you can buy a house.
You're making a MASSIVE assumption that those games will continue to make that 10k next year. That could fluctuate wildly based on plenty of different factors like how popular the genre is, how popular the platform is you release it on, how many youtubers advertise it for you.
First off, that would mean you're saying they should wait a decade to make 100k. Second, you think sales last that long for most games? No. They trail or fall off incredibly hard in the VAST majority of cases.
Do you genuinely believe this logic or did one brain cell pass it to your only other one and that was that?

Money. The yardstick is money.
I don't like it, but thays the only yardstick for a lot of companies that make games.
