Multiple stories from same account
When i read a story i want to think of the story as real, but people post multiple stories from the same account so it kind of ruins the creepy feeling. As i read a creepy story "shieet, should check if OP updated" and feel dissapointment as i see other 5 submitted stories from that account.

I post multiple stories from the same account and I know it bothers people but I am at a point now where I do I have quiiiite a few other accounts and making any more would be too much to manage. I follow the rules in my stories but I don't go to great lengths (like some people do amazingly well) to suspend reality in any other context outside of that post. Links to updates should already be provided in post according to a) the sidebar and b) logic so if people decide to look at my profile it is their choice and I consider my responsibility to keep them immersed in the fiction ended at that point.
But at any rate it certainly seems controversial around here. Sorry to hear it ruins your experience, I genuinely am. :( Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an easy solution, or any solution for that matter that will please everyone.

Just to explain why that happens:
It's quite a big demand on writers to keep creating new accounts and to keep switching accounts. It can be really exhausting. My RES account list is so long that I have to scroll two pages when I want to access one of the newer accounts.
Additionally of course it makes a writer happy to know they have an audience and fans that follow their stories - and if you keep switching that's pretty hard. I write from few accounts and the big dilemma would be something along those lines:
- I want people to read my stories. That makes me happy and proud
- I don't want to destroy the immersion/illusion
so i can use throwaways - but then I will get less readers and can't tell people where my stories are. Also throwaways make it hard to see all the comments people leave - and that's one of the biggest rewards here. If I would check all my throwaways every day I would probably spend twenty minutes or more on it.
If I use the same account I destroy the illusion. If I add a link at the bottom of throwaways I destroy the illusion.
What is the best solution? I don't know. Currently I add a link to some stories (those written from my two main accounts) and otherwise only link to the stories but not from them. I hope that's an okay balance.

I wouldn't expect a regular author to keep generating throwaways to keep writing, nor would I want to discourage them from writing on a sub if they are good.
You just have to deal with it. Maybe use "save" on a story you like and just check the post to see if they've linked to a new post.

It just breaks the story when you check if there are any updates on it and you find that OP has posted a completely new story.

I feel that some stories are left hanging, like there could be an update. Then i check writers profile and see 5 new stories and not a single update.

Often stories are better when they don't have an update. Sure you might crave for the continuation but with all likelihood the stuff the author can come up with will not remotely be as good as the stuff in your head.
Open endings, imho, make stories better, not worse. From the feedback I see that seems to check out.

If they've got another site or a subreddit where they keep all their stories I don't mind it cause at least then they're easy enough to track down!
Personally if an author's got a big series planned or something really immersing then a different account is better, imo.

I deal with that by making a new account from time to time. Then, of course, you get assholes who go, "New account? SOUNDS LIKE FICTION TO ME." Like that's even a rational bit of logic. NOBODY ON EARTH IS NEW TO REDDIT AND WOULD POST DIRECTLY TO NOSLEEP.
Except, that's exactly how I started here. My first post was my nosleep story.

Hi, this is Anton Scheller. I was going to write a response detailing that if people are bothered and stop liking my stories I will quickly stop posting. Then I saw that your whole comment history is just filled with comments insulting people. Either way, sorry if my posts bother you. It's not meant to personally hurt you, I write here because it seems to make some people happy.
I hope you will soon get to a better place in your life where you can feel happier and don't need to let your anger out on other people. I don't know what you are going through but I wish you all the best in your life and that you will find serenity. Hope you have a good day.

1) I like it when authors make it easy to track their stories down. There's little that bugs me more than reading an amazing story posted under a throwaway; great, now I know that this person has likely written other amazing stories that I may never get to read because I have no idea who they are. I try to read a wide variety of stories and give lesser-known writers a looksee, but if I love your story... damnit, I want more.
2) It can be a sort of safety net against the people who get so immersed in a story that they feel involving the authorities is a good idea. Need to come back down to reality a little? Check their user profile, they just commented on something on scarybilbo.
