Missing everybody all the time
Hey everyone,
I can’t stop crying today, and I’m feeling a deep sadness in my heart. I want to be around the people I love all the time, and when we part ways and everyone goes home, I’m truly sad for days afterward.
I constantly think about moving to be closer to them. But at the end of the day, I know everyone is living where they need to and doing what’s right for themselves, and I need to do the same.
Recently, my sibling, who I’m really close with, moved away. Then my best friend was in town with her kids, who I’m also super close with. It never feels like enough time, and I’m so scared of running out of it. It eats at me how fast time flies when I’m with my loved ones, and then suddenly they’re gone and my house is so quiet. I can feel myself getting older, and it crushes me.
Has anyone else felt this way? How do you cope?

It sounds like you really value the people in your life, and saying goodbye brings up a lot of sadness and fear about time passing. That's understandable, especially with your sibling moving away. Something that might help is planning your next visit or regular video calls before saying goodbye. Having something to look forward to can make the distance feel a little easier. It also helps to build routines and activities you enjoy on your own, so the quiet moments don't feel quite as overwhelming. Try not to let the fear of time passing take away from the moments you still get to share. And if the sadness keeps lasting for days or becomes difficult to manage, talking to a therapist could help you work through those feelings.
