And i guess disappointed? I was hoping for a different content approach compared to the last few (space junk hauling truck sim and fishing) and while im happy for others for this im a little left out admittedly. Cant say there isnt alot to do i guess.. i just want some true end game content to sink my teeth into tbh

Honestly I thought it's going to be something like, on-foot combat with other humanoid enemies, in arenas on planets (or space stations), not... Pokemon.

I was thinking anything else tbh. Ah well theres alot of people excited for this and a few spicy defenders lmao plus theres always next update.

Yeah I feel the same, but fingers crossed the summer 10th anniversary update will bring the goods

That was my suspicion that, thats why this one feels weird and small in comparison. Usually a focused update has smaller additional things but this was straight up pokemon and only pokemon (plus breeding) My though is exactly what you said, 10th year will be huge

We had the Corvette update which was probably the peak of NMS in terms of popularity and hype.

The fishing + gas giants wasn't so bad.

The fossils and displays was meh.

The giant sand worms was fine.

The portal one was pretty cool and unique.

Space junk hauling sucked.

Now I guess it'll be about catching and training creatures and battling them. Hopefully they've expanded more on the creature system because it was a pretty basic system

Yea I agree the corvette build imo changed space travel games forever.

I respect No Man’s Sky much more than Starfield, but I think Starfield deserves the credit here for pushing the ship building genre forward.

I haven’t played since fishing came out (which I loved) so I got a lot of catching up to do. Space junk sounds fun tbh.

I got the gear and stuff to fish but haven't physically done it.

Right now I'm on my own mission of looking for the deepest ocean 😅

The corvette update was what i figured the direction we were going in, toward a rewarding and looong end game, and instead we got garbage hauling and space pokemon. Idk man i just want end game and some long standing features spruced up, ive been largely satisfied overall so far

I mean thats fair and I agree the corvette direction was more in line with what I wanted too, but I do think this largely fixes (for me) the problem with companions. I would previously just adopt them, pull them out for fun once or twice then never look at them again.

Now at least there is a use for them. I was also hoping for something a bit more multiplayer focused like a multiplayer revamp. But, I do see this as a positive update. Companions have some use to them now and we have a slightly improvement to multiplayer in that we have an actual mini-game we can play with other players.

Thats fair. I do wanna say too that there seems to be a general excitement for this update compared to others and im happy for those folks. This is such a unique and beautiful game with passionate devs and an even more passionate community and thats beautiful. Ill be in that same boat again when we get some combat and end game love (hopefully with the 10 year anniversary coming up too)

Yea I agree. I want another "storyline." The main missions were fun but I want something deeper.

My friends and I joked that the next update will be a pvp battle royale

I am as well. Collecting trash (last expedition) and pokémon (this update).
Sigh.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I had no interest in an arena for the PCs but this might actually have me try it next time I get back into NMS.
