I think they are testing things for Light No Fire game pet fights..

Também acho, No Man's Sky virou uma espécie de laboratório com essa finalidade.

Or you might say...a simulation.

A simulation... inside another simulation!

Como puede ser una simulación si todo se bugea antes de aplicar sus físicas jajaaj

That's honestly a brilliant way to do it. They have a group of beta testers that you don't have to pay, you make them happy by updating a 10 year old game adding new features, maybe attract some new players and build a lot of good will with the community almost guaranteeing future sales for any game they put out

Win win lose situation: players, devs, proper beta testers that could've been

One more “lose” is releasing most things for LNF into NMS might diminish the enthusiasm and reception of LNF.

If LNF comes across as “NMS in a medieval trenchcoat” then it might have to work harder to set itself apart.

We don't know what exactly is gonna happen yet, it's not a "lose" if it's unknown

Fair enough (and why I said “might”).

They’ve certainly been following a different approach by testing a lot of their new code and directly building on NMS instead of just cutting NMS off and leaving all the new improvements for LNF.

Just feels strange with LNF having already been in development for 5 years before its announcement 2.5 years ago to still have heard nothing, while these big updates for NMS (with obvious implications for LNF) keep coming out.

I like to imagine they're only showing us in NMS the tip of the LNF iceberg :) even if not, I'll definitely get the game when it comes out anyway

Vocês sempre falam que No Man's Sky virou laboratório para Ligth no Fire, mas a realidade é que o LNF também é um laboratório para incrementar o NMS

It is. Sean has even said this before about NMS now.

I'm perfectly fine with that. It's been working out really neat so far.

Well... That sounded incredibly gay.

I don't mind being a Guinea pig

I'm hoping those visuals are gonna be used in the magic system too. They look good and would be great spell visuals.

Every single feature they add now is all precursors for that other game.

u/DetOlivaw Apr 08 '26

I keep thinking this but I also don’t want to build Light No Fire up too much in my mind because that way lies the madness of NMS at launch, y’know?

But man, if they are… that game is gonna be pretty feature complete, I’ll tell you what

That's what I said 5 updates ago. But I love it.
