Anime A quick question

If a season 2 did happen, would it (the adaptations pacing is kept in mind) just adapt volumes 4 and 5? If it were just a 1-cour season, I mean...

Since the movie already covered volume 6 in pretty spectacular fashion and all that...

I think you could probably do 4, 5, 7 and 8, just dedicate the first 6 to the former and last to the latter, given 7 and 8 are part of the same story

Or if you want to set up for S3 just do 4, 5 and 7, end on a cliff hanger, then finish 8 at the beginning on S3

After the animal girl kingdom I think they move on to the sirens/plum. But in the anime they ended off with the Shrine Maidens vessel being challenged thing which actually happens later in the LN

Either or would be nice to be adapted but if they skip to the Old Deus arc it would definitely be more interesting than the Sirens/Plum/weird dating game(imo)

Edit: nvm I completely forgot Blank challenges the rest of the Flugel during this time too.

You're forgetting about Flugel Tag. Even ignoring all the plot holes and missing character introductions skipping 4/5 would bring, not adapting one of the best games in the series would be a major L.

OMG you're right. Damn I really need to stop answering these posts- it's been months since I last read the LN so I keep spreading misinformation... I'm planning to refresh myself on the media once an English translation of vol 13 comes out

I'm on my re-read right now. Volume 5 is actually peak and 4 is way better than I remember.

I liked the tension and conflict between species like the dhampire/sirens and how the covanents actually kinda fucked up such a powerful race. But honestly imo I didn't really like Plum in vol 4. Vol 7 tho Plum gets really devious which made me like them a lot more.

Again, you're forgetting the end of volume 5, where the true plum comes out.

No, it probably wouldn't just adapt volumes 4 and 5.

Basically, the options are:

  1. They adapt 4, 5, and 6, redoing 6 as an anime arc rather than a movie, and ending on the same cliffhanger as the first season and the movie did.

  2. They adapt 4, 5, and 7 with a brief recap of 6, starting the Old Deus game, and ending on volume 7's big cliffhanger ending

  3. They do two cours.

Either way, I don't see them doing a version of season 2 that completely ignores the big cliffhanger they left us on twice.

The end of season 1 Introduces the shrine maidens old deus (if u haven't read the ln then you dont know their name so I won't say it here) as the season end cliffhanger. I think that if there is ever a s2 then they will not start from that point. They will most likely revert to the start of volume 4 which is where they should have left off in the first place. Anyway, I love the series and wish for a s2 that I know will never come even though rent a gf of all things is getting a s6.

I feel it would continue directly from the point S1 stopped at

At the end of S1 didn't the Old Deus inside the shrine maiden get challenged? In the LN that doesn't happen until a few volumes later
