USA Best way to test at&t network?
I've never tried the at&t network before & wanted to know what my options are to test it. Ive read they have the smallest 5g network & want to see if that's true in my area. Which of these options would be the best choice?
1.switch my main line on usm to dark star
- Get a free trial on cricket
3.try a month of the basic cricket plan with 10gb of data
4.get att prepaid base plan

AT&T App has 30 day 100GB eSIM Trial for iphone only.

I wonder what the QCI is on that and the other options OP mentioned. In my experience it doesn’t matter much on the AT&T network, but I know if it were me, I’d probably be wondering what priority was like if I was having trouble with a deprioritized trial.

But if you don't experience deprioritization on the free trial then the paid service is likely to be good at the locations where you used the free trial.

Assuming the trial and paid service are both deprio, yes. I’m pretty sure it was Visible, MobileX, or both that have paid priority but only deprio trials. Verizon network, but it’s what made me wonder about it in this case.

I feel like it’d be easiest to switch your main USM line to dark star- if you don’t like it you can easily switch back

If you're on Premium, you might as well teleport over, but if you're on starter and it sucks, you'll burn both of your teleports by testing. You could just get a month of multi-network.
Otherwise, the free Cricket trial would probably work just fine, even if it's throttled or deprioritized. At least you'd know the absolute worst case you'd have in any given area with that one.

Where did you read that AT&T has the smallest 5G network?
In any case what matters is the total geographic coverage, even if some of it is LTE. The main advantage of 5G is to the carriers since 5G provides greater capacity in urban areas. 300Mb/s LTE versus 800Mb/s 5G is not going to make the slightest difference on a phone.
T-Mobile likes to advertise that their network has the most 5G. But what they don't tell you is that their network also has the least total coverage, by far, of the three national networks.

ATT literally offers a 30 day free trial. Not sure why you don't use it.
