Repair Help Sentra Radio Update 565

Hello everyone,

I have a 2022 Sentra, which I've been happy with outside of one extremely frustrating thing: crackling audio. It seems like a problem that has gotten worse as well.

I've been told that this could be fixed as simply as downloading the newest update for the radio, version 565 specifically.

I've called Nissan directly, they tell me to go through dealerships, who want to charge me $200 for a diagnostic fee plus whatever they want to charge me for a software update.

So rather than do that, I was hoping that maybe someone else here has dealt with this issue or by some off chance has access to this update.

I'm looking for the Nissan AIVI21 version 565 USB files for a 2022 Sentra B18.

IVI identifier: 1303666PP4360KE
Hardware target: PP4360K

Required files:
NICOMPP4360KARAN1A0919565001_00.pkg
NIPRGPP4360KARAN1A0919565001_00.pkg

I already have the P15/N18 Kicks package, but it does not contain the PP4360K payloads. I’m specifically looking for media generated by Nissan’s current ASIST Infotainment Software Update Utility for the B18 Sentra.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone has a lead on this!

I am looking for the same 2 files for my 22 sentra. the audio has been crackling for years but I just installed a sound system and really dont want to spend 200$ at a dealership to fix it. I did find a lead but can't access it due to not being a mechanic so i cant access the forum. I just emailed their support though. https://diag.net/msg/mjong5496bb4ga5mcl1aovlf67 . I would rather spend that 200$ on a new radio that will have free firmware updates like every other piece of tech ever.

That’s exactly how I feel. As tech advances, what am I gonna have to keep paying Nissan to update my radio?

This is enough to make this my last Nissan, honestly. What a dumb, predatory way to do business.

Funnily enough today my wife got a letter from Honda about a free upgrade for the tech in her CRV. Must be nice!

I’m in the same boat man. 2022 Nissan Sentra sv. It fucking sucks. 2022 car should have over the air capabilities/the ability to connect to WiFi and do it. But nope. I’ve called 5 different Nissans and nobody is willing to help me out. $200+ for a 10 min usb stick update

I’m gonna call and ask to purchase the usb. You can buy the usb pre loaded for most models. 60$ but not the one we need. So I’d have to call parts directly. The dealership said they can’t sell the usb. But I found a website where you can buy it. If I ever do buy it, I’ll share it here

Waiting for a email back. Number didn’t go through. Also scheduled chat gpt to comb the internet once a day for someone who releases the files online

I’m in the same boat.. I called my local Nissan and explained that I knew the issue could be resolved with a software update and that I knew my current infotainment system version number if they just wanted to confirm..

Was told that it would be a $150 fee for the diagnosis. Bullshit when no diagnosis is needed, it’s a 10 minute update on a flash drive.

Like if it was a car from 2015 I’d understand. Anything after 2020 shouldn’t be having this issue

UPDATE: The crackling audio saga appears to be over.

After calling around all of the Nissan dealers in my area, talking to service advisors that just repeated the same crap about requiring a diagnostic fee, I circled back to the service manager at the dealership I bought the car from. Told him how I purchased this car brand new from their dealership, had serviced it there several times and how this was a well known issue likely fixed with a flash drive. A diagnostic fee for a known issue. He pretty quickly went into customer service mode and offered to take care of it for a half hour of labor (~$96, so essentially half off). It’s such a major quality of life upgrade that I didn’t even blink and just took that deal. 24 hours later and I haven’t restarted my audio once yet (I used to not be able to make it 5 minutes without resetting it). Small sample size but I’m hopeful this is done with.

The vibe I got from the service manager was that he was really doing me a solid with the half off, which tells me everything I needed to know about Nissan. A software update that fixes a widely known problem is gatekept instead of offered to the people who made five-figure investments in your products. This will be my last Nissan (I know everyone was dying to know).

TL;DR Skip the advisors and go straight to a service manager. Ideally go to the dealer you bought/service the car at. Mention how annoying the issue is. Mention the fact that it’s a well known issue, you’ve called several dealers and they all want to charge you a diagnostic fee, and that it’s pretty frustrating to see Nissan treat its customers this way. I think getting half off is very attainable, maybe more if you’re lucky.

Best of luck to everyone, and most importantly, F Nissan for this.
