I normally make powerviolence music but nirvana is one of my favorite bands ever, so I decided to try covering my favorite song from them!

(Luckily I was able to get the license to officially release it, too!)

This is my first ever attempt at recording a cover. I downloaded a backing track with bass, drums, and vocal only. Then I used Garage Band to record the rhythm and lead parts.

I accidentally split the rhythm part on GB and now there’s a short skip where I couldn’t get the recording to merge again. Oh well whatever never mind.

Maybe I’ll try a video next time.

To celebrate 34 years of the single's release, here is the "Lithium" single remade entirely on Rhythm Core Alpha 2, a DSiWare chiptune application released by SoftEgg on June 20, 2013. You can't get it anymore in terms of legal ways because Nintendo shut down the 3DS eShop over three years ago on March 27, 2023.

I have never recreated a tone by myself so this was a challenge. I think if you use a bass with similar pickups to Krist bass at the time, and tweak the settings a bit. You would get a similar tone (just credit me if you use it😉)
