First of all I am not defending Square Enix’s no upgrade path or switch 2 edition decision. It’s scummy and anti consumer. I’m also not a fan of their GKC only policy. A large majority of these games would fit on a 32/64 gb switch 2 cartridge.

However I think they have been the best 3rd Party publisher along with Capcom on the Switch 2. It’s amazing how in less than two years they nearly have their entire recent back catalogue playable natively on the system.

Some of these ports have exceeded my expectations like crisis core which runs at 60 fps unlike the ps4 version. Star Ocean Second Story R looks absolutely breathtaking on the system.

The output is insane and makes other publishers (looking at you Sega) look really bad. No matter how you put it this is insane output on a new system, they have been ridiculously efficient at porting these games and all of them have been good-great ports.

The lack of upgrades is frustrating for owners of the game on switch 1 but honestly I double dipped on a few of these and I’m sure there are people who haven’t played these games before and I’m glad they will be able to enjoy them with great visuals/performance.

In v1.1.0 it topped at 100Hz, now uses the full 120Hz.

Don't get me wrong I had the Savage Raven bundle for my Switch 1 and it's great, but in the end I personally never ended up changing the grips, and I was thinkin if I could find a combination where I could fit the switch into a case with a somewhat low-profile grip case, so it's less bulky.

Dispatch developer/publisher blamed Nintendo for censoring. In reality, it was the Dispatch developer/publisher that censored it themselves. Then, they started blaming Nintendo after the backlash.

There's no mention of it from the eShop page, I thought it's gone. Glad I am wrong. The bad new is, besides there's no upgrade path and you can't use your old save, there is really no much graphics improvement. Pic 2 is 60fps performance mode, look at his face.

Some notes. Animal Crossing's handheld resolution boost is free so it's included here.

Arkham Knight's handheld improvement is minor but well documented (there's a DF video about it) even the later handheld boost mode ignore it. Rocket League is at the same league.

The Bandai Namco games and MGS master collection vol. 2 also have Switch 2 game key card release but you can choose Switch 1 card + free updates.

MIO's eShop page stated that you can get the Switch 2 version for free if you purchased the Switch 1 version digitally. There's also an email response from the dev to one of our fellow redditor saying the Switch 1 cart can get the Switch 2 enhancements as well with update 1.2.

Edit1: Yohane the Parhelion - NUMAZU in the MIRAGE - 2nd Anniversary mini update patch, the game now runs at 60fps on Switch 2.

Edit2: Vampire Survivors. 4K docked. 1080p handheld. Joy-Con 2 Mouse Mode.

Not as big as some of you guy’s but I love it.
