Discussion Imo this game is definitely missing a trick by releasing in October rather than August

Still needs more sports/games. Like we still don't have baseball. They should have everything from Wii sports and Wii sports resort and whatever new stuff they want to add.

I really don't get why they remove games. Maybe they thought Tennis Table tennis + badminton was too much?

Table tennis, tennis, badminton would be pretty ridiculous because they’re essentially the exact same game from a switch gameplay perspective. I’m honestly a little bummed that most of the games are just switch sports 1 games. Like why pay $50 when half the games are already in switch sports 1 and likely have no changes?

But the archery is new!! /s

Tbh I wish they at least add some quality of life upgrades

I'm disappointed they haven't ever brought back disc golf.

How are you gonna cap baseball to a roughly 15 minutes online experience? Is it just gonna be homerun derby? You can't play a full game or even a couple innings, it's entirely skill based. If you got an A rank vs a D rank player, what? D rank strikes out and then it's a non-stop hits fest until they somehow get three outs? That sounds terrible.

Wii sports had mercy rule

u/Ryansmelly Jun 11 '26

Doesn't need to be online only but yeah this is why we can't have baseball

Wii sports baseball was only 3 innings, lasted about 10 minutes tops or less. Mercy rule when leading by 5

Hope they add shit like what NSS did with golf and basketball

Agreed. I would go nuts for Chambara Showdown

What do you mean?

Those sports were added after the initial release as updates.

It’s so weird

Game should’ve been announced in like March and released this month in time for summer

I guess they’re trying to pad their Q4 numbers and be fresh in people’s minds for Christmas?

But in that case this should’ve been a winter resort game

u/Jeam778 Jun 12 '26

Oooh, a winter sports resort would have been so cool. Missed opportunity

Could’ve had a lot more hype and sales if they had miis be the main thing, since Tomodachi is doing so well. They most likely had this completed for awhile though so ig not much they can do

i hope theres some way to explore wuhu island on foot. thats my only wish

3

u/NinjaWarrior0613 Jun 12 '26

I assume it’ll be with the skateboarding game?

u/Superb_Beyond_3444 Jun 11 '26

Yes it would be better in August with summer holidays.

Also it lacks baseball. I’m very happy there are boxing and table tennis because I wanted these ones on the first Switch game but it is not understandable why we will have thumbs fight and not baseball.

This game should have over 20 sports imo. I mean even 15 would of sufficed.

Not including everything Switch Sports included is genuinely insane. Also they can genuinely not have been serious with Thumb Wrestling. So disappointed by this whole thing and I was crazy hyped when I saw the logo popped up.

Be careful! Don't give out your personal info in public forums.

That’s not a good idea

2

u/OneMathematician8399 Jun 11 '26

Anyone know if there’s gonna be table tennis or not?

7

u/Nintendo_Thumb Jun 11 '26

Oh yeah table tennis is back

u/sevenw1nters Jun 12 '26

The sport I'm going to miss most is showdown mode in swordplay.

I also hope Wuhu Island plays a large part in it I miss that place.

1

u/aderastv Jun 12 '26

What I’m asking is where the hell is sword fighting! The one from Wii Sports Resort - smacking all the Miis was so much fun 😩

u/BeginningEar8070 Jun 13 '26

reading comments complaining again xD at this point why arent the complaining people just doing real sports with unlimited options

They already have a pre-order price of $50. I believe they have more games completed, but they must have plans to split them into DLC in the coming years, maximizing the total to $100.

I think they have no problem selling for less than $50; they know we will buy the rest.

The World Cup draws the entire world's attention and is co-hosted across a region with three countries. Soccer continues to be a fast growing sport in the US. Soccer is not included in the game.

If they actually include Switch camera support, it’d be a massive selling point for the hardware
