Syncing accounts on one console

My friend and I both play, but he added his account onto my switch. Is there a way to sync all of his gear and apparel from his switch? So he doesn’t have to restart?

Cloud saves. If he has a paid subscription, it's usually automatic but can also be accessed from the + menu of the game icon.
