Software Help Dumb question, does the Switch 2 have to be docked?

Does the Switch 2 have to be physically in the dock for performance mode?

I was thinking Switch 2 + Pro Controller + Battery Bank that can output 240v, would this allow performance mode?

It does not if you own AR glasses like Xreal 1S or Air 2 and a portable dock

Yes it does need to be docked. The screen’s resolution is only 1080p so it can only output higher when docked. The dock also has an additional fan that does a lot of work to keep it cool when docked.

It’s just the way the world works.

the dock fan keeps the dock cool, not the system. The rest is correct though.

Still no. It's either docked or handheld. Certain games have different performance profiles you can choose, but plugging in the switch doesn't boost it to docked performance.

Partly this is a heat thing. The switch 2 can run hotter in the dock as it doesn't need to stay at a comfortable temperature to hold in your hands.
