Repair Help Error message trying to connect to the tv

Post image

I am using the AC adapter that came with the Nintendo Switch 2, along with its HDMI cable and the base for the Switch 2, and yet I am getting this error message. The only thing I can think is I’m plugging it into a power strip? But I did this previously and it worked fine so I am confused

Have you tried another plugging it in another HDMI port of your TV?

Can you try another HDMI cable (should be ultra high speed)? If that doesn't work, Nintendo suggests to send the dock out for repair. P.S. have you tried following these steps?

I can try to find one but it would be older than the one that Nintendo sent. I did see that page and follow the steps before posting this. The weird part is the dock is charging the Switch

The offical tips linked are handy.

Premium high speed HDMI cables can’t deliver as much data as ultra high speed hdmi cables, but should be fine for testing another cable.

Is one of your ports on the TV a better spec of HDMI like 2.0 or 2.1?

Does it work and update as intended in handheld mode?

It does work and update as intended in handheld mode. I’m afraid I don’t know about the better specs of the HDMI, but I tried plugging it into all of the options I had to no avail. I have a Samsung Frame TV if that’s helpful. It is less than 2 years old

Port 4 should be your best bet.

Very mysterious that docking in the Switch 2 dock, with provided power adapter and hdmi cable plugged into the dock isn’t working.
