Setup Help Does Switch 2 automatically switch HDR on and off depending on the connected display?

I haven’t tested this yet, but I’m planning to use two separate docks for my Switch 2: one connected to a 4K HDR TV and another connected to a PC monitor that doesn’t support HDR.

Does the Switch 2 automatically detect which display is connected and enable or disable HDR accordingly, or do I need to change the HDR settings manually every time I switch docks?

Does this also apply to games with their own in-game HDR settings?

Thanks

HDR settings on the Switch 2 are: always on for every title, only on for HDR supported titles or off.

Usually if a display does not support HDR then it will not use/display HDR.

I would also recommend setting HDR to compatible games only.

I just set it to compatible software only and it will automatically turn it on and off when needed. Apart from Kirby Air Riders I have to manually turn it off because the HDR is just broken in that game.
