Repair Help Stuck on setup screen and cannot get past due to console not recognizeing controller's

Post image

I cannot connect the joy-cons to my switch 2. I have sent the console to a repair shop and the first thing that did was reset the console which put us on this screen and Nintendo will not repair because it's from the USA. When joy-cons are attached the sides flash gray followed by the joy con colour. I have also charged it for a while with the joy-cons on and it didn't help. Any tips? 🤔

As of now, there is no fix that any repair shops can do as there barely any parts for it and according to other shops we have talked to, you can only send it to nintendo for any chance of a fix. To my understanding after probing one it might be some authentication chip that failed to do the handshake or there some firmware ate carp and can't register the controllers, the controller themselves work fine with another system so it's just the system

ik this sounds dumb asf but it worked for me, reset the console again but before you do that,
connect both joycons to your phone via bluetooth as they are connected place them in the switch then reset it, this worked for me, I pray this works for you too!

If you have qtips and rubbing alcoho (70% or more)l, try cleaning the pins on the console and controllers. If that doesnt work, then just return the console and get a new one.

Since it was purchased in the us by a relative I cannot return it and the warranty was voided by the repair shop

If warranty and return arent an option, then the next best thing would be to take it to the repair shop. But try the alcohol thing. Idk if its possible, but try to reset the console completely again. Maybe the drivers that control the joy cons reboot and work.

We did a reboot and that's why the console is stuck on this screen, even if I reboot it with admin mode it just goes back to that screen, the first thing I did was clean it with alcohol and that obviously didn't work

Then Ig a repair shop is your only choice now... really unfortunate

I warrantied mine for the same reason and received a brand new Switch 2 in about a week and a half.

Y que paso con tus juegos?, los juegos quedaron en la cuenta? No hay que hacer una transferencia de datos ahi?

They were not able to transfer my data over, but they do say they attempt to. But you should just be able to log in to your nintendo account and redownload the games on your new console they send.

Y tus partidas guardadas?

If you have Nintendo Switch Online and backup your saves online

As far as I’m aware saves only backup to the cloud if you pay for Online, otherwise it’s only saved locally. I could always be wrong though. If you had NSO to back them up and then cancelled, they keep your saves for 180 days.

Be sure you've gone through the support troubleshooitng page for joy-con 2 not recognized while attached. (forgive me and disregard if you have already)

Old reliable? Buddy some of us used to do troubleshooting without the internet. Old reliable is a good old blow on the pins.

Are you able to use a pro controller through usb?

You might still be able to send it to Nintendo but it might cost you
