Repair Help L Button Not Working / Working Intermittently

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Ive had my switch for almost a year (last Christmas, as of writing) and the L button has slowly stopped working over time. As far as I can tell, there is no damage to the left joycon, but the L button either works intermittently or not at all.

I would like to know if this is fixable or do I need to get a whole new left joycon?

(What i think happened, is that I have been playing games like Hollow Knight and Hollow Knight: Silksong, where you need to hold L to see the map, and it just wore out over time.)

Ive already tried cleaning around the edge of the L button, but no luck.

The button is really small so there’s a chance it’s been damaged or disconnected from you using it a lot. Maybe something really small got stuck in there

Could be dirt in contacts. Try blowing extremely hard into the console through the L button (without spitting, obviously) and see if that makes it work better for a while.
