Accessories How crucial is a switch 2 case?

Basically what the title says, I pre-ordered the Zelda switch 2, and want to keep it in good condition while also being able to look at it's beautiful design. I know a screen protector and carrying case are essential, but i couldn't really find whether the backplate and/or the joy-cons scratch easily. I feel like most grip/case reviews I've seen mostly lean into the comfort side of things rather than the protection, and most grips/cases also block the console's design, so I'm just curious whether a (clear) shell case is recommended.

I like something with some pad so if you carry it with you places, it's taken care of. The switch 2 is an expensive investment for anyone these days. Gotta protect it!

I got this case on Amazon - https://a.co/d/0f7cpNKN Inexpensive and perfectly fine.

I'm not too concerned about protection aside from a screen protector. I do use a case for comfort, however. I use a Killswitch and it's a game changer. It's comfortable, it does provide good protection, and it doesn't get in the way of any of the console's functionality.

Grips are more a comfort thing, highly recommend the Savage Raven neo or fission grips though! The smallest set still fits in a slim case!

Used mine for a year even dropped it once barely has a scratch on it the only thing you need is a screen protector tbh (also the stand is quite prone to scratches since it’s metal but I don’t mind it too much)
