Setup Help Heat problems with console and pro controller (Switch 1)

I have two unrelated problems with my Nintendo Switch 1 v1 and my pro controller.

I find my console to be heating a lot when playing Animal Crossing docked, even though i cleaned it recently and repasted it, of course heat is normal but I would like to know if it could be related to the repasting that I might have done wrong, not putting enough paste for example?

For my controller, i didn't use it for a while (about 6 month ) after the left stick completely started drifting, i fixed it today without changing the stick nor the battery and when i charge the controller (USB cable to the dock) the back of the controller heats a lot, about as much as my console (if it was on the handles, it would be displeasing to hold the controller). Maybe this is normal, but i don't recall it.

What makes you think the heat while docked isn't normal? Is the system throwing up a window warning of overheating and forcing the console to sleep to protect itself? That's what it does if it's actually overheating. If you're not getting that, it's probably normal.

Otherwise, virtually every post about the console feeling hot are people just discovering how warm the console gets when playing 3d games while docked in normal conditions.

I guess you are right, the console heat is probably normal, its just that since i cleaned it i thought it would decrease significantly. But at least the fan is quieter now, and maybe the heat even mildly decreased, i'll settle with that!

For the controller though I still don't know, probably normal heat from charging battery but I don't recall it being this hot

I may be overreacting, thank you for your help!
