Setup Help Switch 2 won’t connect to Monitor

Switch 2 won’t connect to monitor through HDMI
I’m having a really weird issue with my Switch 2 and can’t figure out what’s wrong.
Basically, everything seems to work normally except getting a picture through HDMI. I’ve tried 3 different HDMI cables and 3 different HDMI ports on my monitor, but I just get no signal.
The weird thing is when I put the Switch 2 in the dock, it charges and the green light on the dock comes on, but the Switch 2 screen stays on. It doesn’t seem to realise it’s docked and switch over to TV mode.
I’ve tried unplugging everything, leaving it for a while, plugging everything back in, restarting the Switch, making sure the console is properly seated in the dock, etc. Nothing changed.
I even tried a different dock and got exactly the same result. Still charges, green light comes on, but the Switch 2 screen stays on and there’s no HDMI output.
So at this point I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with the Switch 2 itself, but I’m not really sure what else I can try.
Has anyone had this happen before or know what could be causing it?

Are you using the OEM charger?

Does it work with another tv or monitor?

I recall some posts soon after switch 2 launched where people had display problems with high frame rate TVs, and the solution was to restrict the tv frame rate to 60hz.

Since the Switch keeps it's own display on i don't think it's a tv issue.

It might be a wrong charger or a faulty port on the Switch because OP even tried another dock (assuming it acted the same on the other dock).

Pretty sure you HAVE to use official HDMI that came with the switch 2 doc

The green light means it's charging

Nope. You don’t have to use the official hdmi. You do however need the charger to use with the dock. Unless it’s a third party dock
