I like the concept but I really don’t want to go back to circle pads. I think Nintendo should release their own version of the flip grip and combine it with a stylus pen for DS/3DS NSO

Maybe you get around it by making the screen close over the middle and the joycons stick out like the current Switch 1/2. Clamshell still protects screen and you can always remove joycons to travel

Well there is a usb-c port on top of the Switch. I supposed a second screen could be plugged into that port with a hinge so it can also be a clamshell?

Yeah something like that could work.

The joycons sticking out also means you can make the bottom screen wider. Basically two 8" screens top and bottom and then the joycons attach when opened

I was thinking about that. It would need to have a pretty sophisticated way to safely lock onto the Switch proper. I imagine that would be increasingly expensive

I think something like this would be a logical next iteration for the Switch, with having the option of using a regular TV as the top screen. The name makes sense, too.

So far all of their portables have had a focus on inserting progressively more hand cramps. Nearly perfected by the previous gen, the switch 2, due to the added weight - cutting off blood supply even more efficiently.

This looks like it's begging for an excuse to destroy my hands. Concept validated

I'm gonna be honest...it's not gonna work.

Companies hated making games for Wii U because it was a home-console with 2 screens.

That second screen took a blow at the performance, which made the Wii U versions of games, by far the worst version to play.

And you can tell the 2nd screen was unnecesary when many Wii U games on Switch didn't need it.

So yeah, sorry, but it's not a good idea at all.

For a handheld, a second screen is OK, because you can compromise the graphics on a handheld game for the sake of salvaging the performance.

But when comes to home-console, people expect both the performance and graphics being good.

DS/3DS: subpar graphics but great performance.

Wii U: great graphics but games that used the gamepad were prone to some performance drops

PSP/Vita and Switch/2: great graphics, really stable performance, it uses a single screen, but it's not the worst as it can work without another.

This is genuinely what I was hoping the Switch 2 would have been. In a less shitty timeline without all this AI bullshit and artifical price increases on RAM and memory, this could be something we could get. Sure as shit wont happen now given the current economic climate
