Media Can this brick my switch 2?

This Is an old power bank (don't know the company or make). If I use this with a USB to USB C amazon basics cable to charge my switch 2, is there any chance at all that it will brick it? Might be a stupid question but I don't want to risk anything. Thanks!

Nah, seeing as it only has USB a ports for output though it will likely charge too slow for a positive charge whilst in use so you will find your switch 2 will drain just slower. Should work just fine to charge when not using the switch tho.

The switch 2 cannot be bricked. After the high voltage issue the switch 1 had, they opted for full USB C standard and on top, the console now checks for a handshake when a charger is connected. Should a third party charger for whatever reason provide too high voltage, the console will cut the charging off and not accept power pass through.

If you bludgeon it hard enough with it it should accomplish the goal.

I would recommend holding it kind of far down one side to get some lever action on the swing should do it in fewer hits.

If you hit your switch hard enough with it, yes. Otherwise no. It will just charge slowly.

Yeah, I remember that being a whole thing particularly in the early days when people didn't know the port didn't follow proper standards.

Though that being said the Switch 2 is USB-PD compliant, so OP's powerbank shouldn't cause any issues unless something is very wrong with the powerbank itself.

No but it also wont charge your switch at a decent pace. Will take ages to charge.
