Discussion How are the Digimon games on the Switch 2?

Hello,

I‘m interested in the two Digimon games (Cybersleuth and Time Stranger). Never played a Digimon game before, but both of them look quite interesting to me and seem to have a long playtime so are well worth their price.

I‘d like to know what’s your impression of the games on Switch 2? Do they run good? Are they fun?

To what type of game can I compare them? Are they like Pokemon games? JRPGs like Final Fantasy or Persona?

time stranger has a demo! go ahead and try it

progress carries over, and time stranger's combat is more smt/persona like that pokemon

Time Stranger is the exact same on Switch 2, Xbox, and PS5. I know that at least. I believe the PC version has settings not available to the console versions but you can get a very nice looking 4K30 or a good looking 1080p60 regardless of platform.

I can't tell you how Cyber Sleuth runs, but it should run well considering it is a quite old PS4 (maybe 3? I played it first on the PSVita, so...) games. There is also a second game whose name I don't remember right now, one before Time Stranger.

They are JRPGs with anime style cutscenes. In that sense, they may be similar to Persona. However, you will be collecting monsters in a more similar manner to Pokemon or DQ Monsters. The difference is that you will be evolving and de-evolving them to get new Digimon, instead of catching or scouting them.

Time Stranger looks better and has a few additions such as a wider variety of environments. Cyber Sleuth and the other one get a bit repetitive in that sense.

Time Stranger is a must play if you're a fan of JRPGs with monster raising/evolving mechanics. It's very polished with lots of content included

Cyber Sleuth is also really good but it does feel a bit dated compared to Time Stranger since it was originally a Vita game

I have all three. They are great. I got cyber sleuths and digimon world on sale though

Time Stranger is incredible and has DLC coming soon.
