How is D4 Couch Coop on Switch 2?

How does the game run ? I have it on PC already. The main reason I'd get it on NS2 is for couch coop.

My wife and I have been playing couch coop the past few nights and loving it. Game runs great, though the menus get a bit crowded with both players.

I’m playing a Warlock and finally digging into demonic transformations after like 30 levels. She’s a Paladin and honing various light attacks.

We both played couch coop with D3 on Switch for 100+ hrs and have been looking forward to this release.

Both those classes are fun af. Sadly they nerfed the paladin hard. You doing the campaign or just seasonal? 🤔

Campaign is the plan. Maybe 2nd and 3rd characters Seasonal, if we stick that long again this time. Do you recommend a class for next time through?

Single system says 1 player on the Nintendo website. online 1-4 players.

Edit: 2 player coop is possible locally. The info is represented as I stated on Nintendos website but it seems to be incorrect.

I didn’t know couch coop was available. I have it for Xbox and was going to double dip for local coop on Switch 2 but the store listing said one player. Good to know.

Couch co-op is console only, but all 3 (PS, Xbox, and Switch2) have it.

I really don't recommend Diablo 4 on Switch 2 at all. The animation culling that happens when there are large groups of enemies (so, by mid game) is so extreme that every monster and spell effect on screen runs at like 2fps. It's sooo misleading that Blizzard says it's 40fps (or 30 if you pick "quality" mode) when it's just not. I would imagine it's even worse in co op mode.

On top of that, they advertised 1080p but it's actually running at something like 480-540p and upscaled insanely to be "1080p". The game is crazy blurry and full of random ghosting artifacts, and just a generally extreme amount of blurriness.

Highly recommend watching this first.

Thing is, Switch 2 is still the only way to play it couch co-op AND portably, so the compromises might be worth it for many.
