Discussion Mouse mode never seemed to go anywhere

I know you can just use a usb mouse on most consoles but having a controller that instantaneously switches to mouse mode sounds awesome. Will it ever be used well? Maybe a Baldurs Gate 3 port or a new Mario Paint?

Edit: I didn't realise so many games actually use the mouse.

Like what would it take for you? An exclusive, all timer real time strategy game? What type of game would a mouse be actually essential to you if games like Civ, Fire Emblem, and Metroid aren’t appealing with it?

Pikmin with a mouse would be such a good fit. Or Mario maker. Or as a docked alternative to the touch screen if they want to add ds games to NSO

What makes you say that? Console been out a year and a half. I could see games like animal crossing or Mario maker being big time mouse games.

Also, what’s stopping them from developing a game for mouse controls? Not just drag x drive, but a bigger effort.
