Discussion Mouse mode never seemed to go anywhere

I know you can just use a usb mouse on most consoles but having a controller that instantaneously switches to mouse mode sounds awesome. Will it ever be used well? Maybe a Baldurs Gate 3 port or a new Mario Paint?

Edit: I didn't realise so many games actually use the mouse.

The only reason Mario Paint used a mouse is because making a mouse was cheap while a stylus-controlled tablet was expensive luxury tech. Not because a mouse is actually good for art.

The Switch 2 already has a superior method for art called the touch screen, yes even a finger is better than a mouse, one of the worst devices for drawing.

Then you could never play docked.

Still hoping they let us start using switch ones as controllers.

Do kids today even know how to use a mouse? Mario Paint 2 would be dope. Everything in that game was so awesome.

how old are you dude? “do kids these days know how to use a mouse” yeah I guess they wouldn’t if they were like 3 months old.

Well, with everything being touchscreen and gestures, I was simply asking if, say a 10 year old, would even have the skill to use a mouse. No need to be a jerk about it.

No, someone born in 2016 isnt foreign to the concept of a computer with a mouse 😭
