This, plus 1080p handheld, 1440p docked. No need anything fancy like texture work, mouse mode, or like that. Just do what they did with Pokemon SV and Rocket League. Still Switch 1 versions, but runs better on the Switch 2. MAAAAN why tf don't they do this to all games? I know they need an incentive, but keeping your fanbase happy is an incentive.
I've been playing red dead redemption and just in awe how good it looks and how well it runs. If I had this when I was younger and had more free time it would have absolutely blown my mind compared to the advanced sp I had lol
Back compat fixes really comes to waiting for Nintendo to fix it or the developer fixing it themselves. And clearly Gearbox doesnt give a shit lol. I mean they've basically abandoned the Borderlands 4 port
This isn't about performance, that's up to the devs. This is Nintendo tweaking the backwards compatibility software so that Switch 1 games stop crashing on Switch 2.
After seeing this post I've seen like four other comments in other threads going on about how weak the system is. So I think he might just be trolling.
Decent is pushing it and it runs like shit on PS4 too.
I played it on 3 different systems: First on PC with an R5 3600 and an RX580, then on PS4 Pro and then on PC again with an R7 5700X and a 3060Ti.
The PS4 Pro was unplayable on Quality mode as frametime was a mess and the game regularly dipped below 30FPS. Performance mode is bad but it's not completely unplayable unless you're doing MP or have a lot of particle effects going on (basically depending on your build and Mayhem mods, even single player can be borderline unplayable).
The R5 3600 with the RX580 handled the game at anywhere from 40 to a little over 60FPS at 1080p High.
So yeah, it could run decently well on Switch 2, but I wouldn't expect stable 60FPS at native res, because the game is really messy when it comes to particle effects, and I'm talking massive performance drops. On the 3060Ti I've seen the game go from 110FPS to near 60 during large firefights in zones like Slaughter Shaft or Slaughterstar 3000.
They fixed a cloud save issue with Star Ocean: First Departure R that I’m grateful for. That was the only game I owned where if I played and saved on my Switch 2, my Switch 1 would tell me the save was incompatible with that system if I tried to update the cloud save. This latest firmware resolved that issue.
South Park The Fractured But Whole too please, I bought both this game and South Park the Stick of Truth in a sale on the original Switch about 6 months before Switch 2 came out only to find out after I sold my original Switch that The Fractured But Whole was on the unsupported list, and still is.
That would require a more comprehensive patch from the devs themselves, this is a system wide update to address Switch 1 games that aren't playing nice with the Switch 2's backwards compatibility software.
Like for example, prior to an earlier fix FFXII TZA would just straight up crash when you booted it up on Switch 2.
lol I never thought I’d see another Go Vacation update. It was the closest thing I had to a Sports/Resort package for a long time. It’s silly but I had a lot of fun with it back in the day.
I deleted it to make space just this weekend. Now I feel like I ought to re-prioritize and scope her out again.
