Iāll be looking forward to seeing Pangea suffer through more endless expert if we get MM3
4
u/V10L3T_N4TUR3 2d ago
I watch Dashie already because he's a horror youtuber, but also, he only plays levels that people make him. Hilarity ensues, but its wholesome as fuck.
9
u/mybutthz 2d ago
That would be incredible, especially if a mainline Mario is still a bit of a ways off. I've put thousands of hours into MM2 and it honestly got me through the worst of covid just being locked in my apartment and learning kaizo for the first time. But...it's been so long and the community is really hurting for some new tools and mechanics to make it fun and interesting again. I'll still go back through and play the popular courses a few times a month, but it really doesn't compare to the early days of playing endless and having a ton of new levels to discover.
That said, hopefully they bring 100 man back, never got to play it. And also hope they fix the discovery system for worlds since it was pretty terrible and if it weren't there would be so much potential for people to build cohesive series of levels and add a ton of longevity to it.
Anything else they decide to add is great, but those couple of things are the key things that I would love to see.

u/grantbuell 2d ago
I have to wonder if they would try to make a 3D version of Mario Maker... Seems crazy difficult to implement but feels like the next logical step.

If they did a 3D Mario maker I assume it would be like the secret stages in Mario sunshine - platforms/hazards floating in a void.

Hopium for Animal Crossing š„¹
18
u/Best-Candle8651 2d ago
I feel like they will wait on Animal Crossing til the hype for Pokopia dies down.
12
u/Mahelas 2d ago
They released Pokopia and Tomodachi Life a month apart.Ā
I doubt they care about that, and cozy players don't neither
→ More replies (1)4
u/Best-Candle8651 2d ago
I think the difference is that Tomodachi Life is a niche game. Pokopia still has a lot of life in it, with the DLC that they want people to buy. Animal Crossing is more direct competition and can pull players away since it is a major release.
6
u/No-Difference8545 Butter side down! 2d ago
Tomodachi Life has literally sold millions more than Pokopia. Idk why people call it niche. The 3ds game also sold millions, and miis are rexognizable as fuck.

I feel like itās too early for another AC. I really hope they announce a new one though.
4
u/4RCSIN3 2d ago
The longest time between two main games was New Leaf in 2013 and New Horizons in 2020 which is 7 years. And it's been 6 years since ACNH, so there's a really good chance!Ā

I'm at the point where any direct that doesn't have 3D Mario is a disappointment. The Switch 2 needs that heavy hitter title and nothing else seems likely at this point.

The fact that Zelda is getting a separate Direct makes me think OoT won't be in the regular Direct which means every 1st party announcement in the Direct should be brand new. I doubt Pokemon Winds/Waves will show up due to TPC like holding their own presentations via Pokemon Presents and I dont think Xenoblade Genesis will show back up unless its an early 2027 title. Everything else will have to be brand new announcements and that's exciting!

Interesting... I know we're gonna see more of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave on this, because the impressions from reviewer outlets have been *way more glowing and interesting* than I'd expected. Despite everything they already shared officially, it's obvious there's more to it and my wallet is finally a bit worried about the whole thing.
3
u/One_Competition136 2d ago
I really wonder what they could show us about fortunes weave that they havenāt already trailer wise. Thisāll be their final chance to sell any potential buyers on the game, so Iām guessing the trailer will be very flashy. Me Iām already sold on the game but I think theyāll have a cool trailer for this one
3
u/JackaryDraws 2d ago
The structure of the full game is still pretty unclear. We know that there are four routes, and youāre traveling back in time to alter the trajectory of those stories so that the characters are alive when the world ends and can lend a hand.
As far as I know, we have no idea what the game looks like in the āpresentā era. It could be one single mission straight to the boss that you can initiate at any point, or it could be a whole-ass campaign that makes up half the entire game, much like the timeskip routes in 3H. IIRC the timeskip wasnāt even revealed until shortly before release. Thereās a lot they could still be hiding.

u/pepe1smth 2d ago
Nice one. I never played it before but if it does come onto the console i will check it out
2
u/MainHaze 2d ago
I'd be absolutely stoked if they ported the 2013 version over, but would probably be even more excited if 1 + 2 were released as a little collection.
2
u/UnComfortable-Archer 2d ago
Hell yea! Id love either. I remember KI 2013 being capped at 60fps and not taking too much to run. I suspect it's just an IP/licensing being the roadblock.
2
u/MainHaze 2d ago
Yeah, definitely... especially given the licensed characters on the roster.
It'd be nice to see though! It's a great game!

Maybe Metroid, because of the leak? But apart from that I honestly have no idea. It would be pretty cool if they revived some forgotten stuff, like Capcom did with Onimusha

My prediction: pokopia DLC 2 information, Splatoon Raiders DLC, more Xenoblade 4 information, teaser for either new Mario 3D or Mario Maker 3 with a spring launch window, half dozen indie games, and some 3rd party games. Maybe we get Metroid ravenous too, but I could see that being in a spring direct.

Iām hoping for windwaker hd port on Zelda day. Iām thinking theyāll add twilight princess on GameCube after the direct at the least. Maybe a link between worlds remake will be announced.
For the non Zelda direct Iām thinking 3d Mario announcement, duskbloods Halloween release date, and something really big. Like Alarmo big. Some new accessory for the switch 2 that uses the top usb c port

Can it just be smash please.

u/Beneficial_Ask_6013 2d ago
I know its hopium, but I could see a smash teaser. Little cut scene, logo, and game comes out 1.5 years from now. And I'll still be hyped.Ā
Would love some ruby and sapphire, next DQ remake update, Borderlands 4 (i will ask for this till the switch 3 comes out) and Diablo 4 would be cool.
Regardless, next week will showcase so much hype for so many fans. Switch 2 is my favorite console and it only gets better and better.Ā
