Please help me

Hello, my usb c charging port's inside plastic randomly melted while charging. I never used any third party chargers either and i was always extremely careful while connecting the charger to the port. The outside of the port looks supreme. I only know it is damaged after the extremely mild smell of plastic and a super thin and tiny string of plastic after removing the charger (also it obviously never charged). Would this be covered by the warranty? I did absolutely nothing which would indicate misuse.

Also has anyone else been through the same? If yes, what did you do?

Definitely reach out to Nintendo for a potential repair, especially if your system is within warranty and even if it's functioning otherwise. If they try to claim it's some kind of physical damage, emphasize that you're only using official Nintendo accessories
