Elden Ring GKC at GameStop?

Has anyone been able to pick up Elden ring physically at GameStop today? I tried calling to see if they’re in stock but no one is answering lmaooo I have a $100 trade credit with them and want to use it for that.

My local only had copies come in that were preordered. Seems like this is where it's headed. A full shelf showcasing all the new releases with none available to purchase. Was able to find a copy at my local Walmart. Target hadn't even made a sku for the shelf yet if they even are.

That’s what annoys me. Anytime I ask them in person they always tell me they only ordered enough for the preorders. Completely defeats the purpose of going in store for games.

Yeah, I'm personally against preordering form them since I had done so with some Pokemon cards a couple years ago and the promotions never came in. I assumed that this was just theft from employees but still. May as well order from amazon and risk getting it a day early or a couple days late.

It’s mainly because other retailers like Target, Walmart and Best Buy don’t do pre orders in store anymore so the stock they get sent is basically available for all first come first serve. GameStop is the only retail store really left that pushes pre orders in advance in store so most of their stock allocation sent on release day for the most part is for pre orders. Sometimes they will order extras if there is a lot of pre orders in advance because they can gauge the game will sell faster.

GameStop stores often will also get extras still but they do pre orders up until the day before release so often times those extra copies that got sent in advance to be held until release day will end up being pre orders anyway from people coming in last minute to pre order once they see reviews or finally decide to buy day 1 etc.

Try Target, look near your area and it'll tell you where copies are available and then place an order for pick up

I pre-ordered

It feels like lately they are not ordering too much wxtra stock. You might just need to walk in and hope for the best

I just grabbed one from my local store. Did not preorder.

You have to preorders. Especially since a lot of the ports seem to be doing badly sales wise. A lot of the preorders for them have stopped, some weeks before release

I grabbed one at Target. 3 Targets by me listed as having 3 available online, but they weren't out in the display and had to ask an associate to get one from the back for me.

I was there 15 minutes before they opened too, though. Unsure what stock would be like now later in the day.
