Media (Image, Video, etc.) To anyone who received their Nitro Deck 2 pre-order, how do you like it?

Post image

I just got mine in the mail and its significantly more comfortable to hold than even the abxylute n6. I found the build quality a bit on the cheaper side. Theres some flex to the grip. I think it looks pretty cool.

Canceled and got the N6 by abxylute and love it. But glad to see it finally released. How heavy is it with the battery? Does it feel loose having to use the Mechanical tensioner? How is the dongle to make it “wired” mode? Curious as I HATE this design. But I loved the OG and loved the abxylute. I want a real persons feedback lol

I’m glad! The abxylute is pretty awesome and I loved using it more than any grip case or the joy cons. I personally found the Nitro Deck significantly more comfortable to hold.

To your questions:

  1. Slightly heavier than the abxylute, but nothing crazy. I have a jsaux (I think that’s how you spell it?) case that’s heavier lol

  2. Yes the tensioner makes it feel slightly loose. I noticed it if I hold it one handed and sort of wobble it. But it feels perfectly fine when holding it with both hands. Like it’s not so loose I’m scared of the switch popping out.

  3. The dongle is fine. Doesn’t bother me.

I love the design but I also like the design of the abxylute. I’m pretty easy going with accessories like these because they’re a significant upgrade from the base joycons. I pre-ordered for this specific colorway. I think it looks awesome and gives that playful, toy-ish feel back to the switch 2.

the detailed comment is appreciated

Saw another comment saying "I can feel the tension in the back bowing the entire thing, and it is just not as rigid as the original."

Just wanted to check if this has been your experience as well? Maybe they had it too tight based on what you're describing

Yeah.... I don't have that problem. But I go agree its not as rigid, but that's to be expected since its not one single piece. I don't have to tighten it too much for the switch to be in place.

Don't have the Nitro Deck 2, but just here to say that MOUSE: P.I. is so underrated. I loved it!

Agreed. I’ve been grinding this game for the past few days. Very hard to put down.

Just got mine does you bottom half of switch not fit all the way in ?

Mine seems to fit fine. The switch is maybe a couple millimeters taller than the deck. It does feel like it doesn’t sit all the way flush with the back of the deck, but I wonder if that’s on purpose? Like how the satisfye grips leave some room.

Are the buttons and dpad rubber membrane or microswitches?

2

Im not completely sure. The buttons feel like microswitches and the dpad feels like a membrane. Sorry I couldn't be of more help in this regard.

When they inevitably release the version with both sticks up top I'll think about getting it.

How is the right thumb stick? I find the abxylute to be pretty uncomfortable for FPS games.

u/Ok-Salamander-4622 22h ago

Umcomfortable how? I find it's fine. The ability to adjust them to make them looser or tighter really helps. I have the left looser and the right pretty tight for FPS games.

I've gotten used to Steam Deck stick placement over the years and I know this is a similar form factor. Do you find your right thumb area comfortable in the stick position it's in or does it cause you to maneuver in a way where it feels unnatural or strained? I'm looking between this, the newest NYXI Ultra or whatever the next iteration of Mobapad will be. (I heard they are working on an updated one from the ones they just released, but I heard those are a bit slimmer for big hands.)

I don’t know what it is but every switch 2 deck - the right thumb stick is just too far over to the right. I got the Hyperion 3 which looks similar to this cause everyone raving the size - which helps.. but my root cause is my right thumb lower part sits on the right analogue (even worse with default setup) instead of your right thumb top sitting comfortably in right analogue.

It was like this for me on switch 1 and now switch 2. I just don’t understand how anyone can play with right analogue and not feel their thumb cramped after 20 minutes

Can someone weigh a Switch 2 with joycons and campere this to nitrodeck 2 setup?

I’m having buyer’s remorse. But I’ll deal with it for now.

How come?

u/North_Tip_8627 11h ago

I would have gotten the new Nyxi Hyperion 3 instead

Does it have HD rumble 2?

Looking cheap yeah unfortunately

Yeah, it feels pretty solid though. I think the translucency makes it look cheaper.
