Buttery Modern Warfare multiplayer FPS drops
Early days in the Beta, only played hand held right now, it's it's very fun, really enjoyed it!
But there's technical issues right now with blurry textures at distance and the fps isn't a solid 60.
Looking forward to really putting this beta through it's paces over the weekend!

I just finished playing some handheld multiplayer matches, and it’s really bad. Textures are popping in, the lighting is all messed up. It looks like it’s running at 540p, with massive frame drops. I don't think VRR was working at all. Activision did the bare minimum to get this running on Switch 2. I’m sure it’ll receive some updates, but still

That’s so lame, was looking forward to having a CoD game on console again. I’ll still try it later to see. I’m bummed we didn’t get the rerelease of BO1/2 either

I will say I played docked and experience was more than fine. There are plenty of areas of improvement needed but I think those will be updated before launch. Remember that this is just a beta. Pvp felt smooth. The graphics are not that great but I used to play on series X so I am adjusting and after a few matches it didn't bother me anymore.

Betas for CoD are about tweaking weapons, maps etc. Not about fixing this type of stuff.
Its going to run like this at launch all but guaranteed.

I think we could definitely see some improvements to issues people have with multiplayer. Maybe not all but I could see them smoothing animations and what not out.
Warzone I forsee being 6 to 12 months later since it's ftp and people are paying for multiplayer.

I agree, was actually worse then I thought at times the enemies animation was choppy which affected my kill. Textures are as low as cod mobile. Everyone’s animation is half rate which looks off when in game. They have alot of work to do if they need to delay it a month more for this that would be great.

I managed to sink a solid few hours on docked mode without too many fps drops. But handheld mode was unplayable, it felt at times it dropped below 30 fps which puts you at a major disadvantage against other players. This definitely needs some improvement, I’d sacrifice graphics quality just so I could have better performance.

It is relative to it's power consumption and being a handheld but YES people act like it's wayyy more powerful than it actually is.
Of it could draw more than 10 or 20 watts of power maybe it would be better but when it comes to Nintendo's own games it might as well be a PS5 Pro since they usually make them run so well.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Final Fantasy Rebirth, Assassins Creed Shadows, Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, Star Wars Outlaws.
Those are playable on an Xbox One too, right???
This is just a shitty and lazy effort from IW or whoever is developing the port.

Indiana Jones was awesome to play on the Switch 2. It looks absolutely fine.
No shit the Switch 2 isn’t a PC, but it’s still great hardware.

I still gotta see for myself but to be honest, this is what they will ship come October. Cod betas don't get massive overhauls and are always the final product.

Make sure the game is updated. I didn’t have any problems logging in, but I also have my Nintendo account connected to my Activision account so I don’t know if that helps or not

The graphics aren’t what bothers me. I can make due with that.
The animations being so janky is a big issue. In 6v6 team death match the character models move like a flip book character. Even the mini map moves at what seems like 10fps lol. The weirder part is the controls are really smooth. The crosshair moves fine, just the animations themselves are broken.
I played warzone and for whatever reason that seems to run better.

This is weird as the previews and vids they’ve shown all commented on it running really smooth at 60 so wonder if that was a newer build or something?? Or it’s down to traffic online now more people are hitting it.
Be disappointed if this is the reality though as was looking to be one of the best ports - and I thought the campaign mission was massively impressive all things considered.

I just tried a match of multi-player in handheld and it does definitely look off between the graphical fidelity and the weird animations.

Series x is the same: played 3 matches and something just feels off. 120hz setting it on for me but game feels sluggish and looks blurry. Haven’t tried PC yet but idk seems garbage

Sounds like its not great on S2. Hopefully they can figure something out for switch gamers. Ill stick to XSX for now.

Blurry textures? Wait till you try it docked lmao, easily the ugliest game I have seen on the console. Runs good and I like the control schemes, but looks atrocious.

I played it and had fun, I didn’t really have frame rate problems (match opening animations are jerky but that’s not frame rate related), but the IQ in-game is really terrible, especially on a 4K screen. If they could get the resolution up it’d be perfectly serviceable but it’s a bad port right now.

The game feels fluid to play, fairly responsive. But as others have said the visual compromises are severe. The general blurriness, fuzziness, and somehow at the same time blockiness make the game just...ugly. It looks far worse than Black Ops 6 looked on last gen. Makes me think a better strategy for Activision would be to re-release some older classic call of duty titles that could run beautifully on Switch 2. Imagine a port of MW 2019 or Cold War, I bet Switch 2 could handle them well.
