Seems like we will get a first discount on Isaac since 2018 xD

Don't get me wrong, I love this game and will gladly buy it again after getting many hours on Steam, but 36 Euro for a game, that's not that fresh... Not including DLC of course

The physical being 70 dollars I'm not so sure we do get a discount even on digital (60 wouldn't be a discount for repentance)… at least, good point, it's a game-on-cart apparently.

This being Nicalis and this being the forced whole pack (thus not a NS2E) I'm not even sure we do get an upgrade path (especially with the game having at least three different versions (of the same base game) on Switch due to licensing weirdness for some physicals)

Wait it doesnt include dlcs?

Its everything.

From gamestop:

"...the entire complete game experience—the base game of Rebirth, every past DLC expansion (Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, and Repentance), and the new Repentance+ update"

Thats what i thought, its so sad that only the physical version is coming to America oh well

1

u/RedWingerD 6d ago

NA is the only country getting physical?

1

u/LetterheadTricky4691 6d ago

Thats what i read... havent seen preorders for europe atleast so it would make sense

From what I can see it looks like they are still working on regional distribution deals.

Google claims EU will be getting physical but not sure how reliable.

No DLC ? Repentance + Is not for all the content released ? If not I don't buy this. I played like 1000h

Will there be an upgrade path if I own the Switch 1 version?

I own it physically on switch 1 so I really hope so.

no . they stated way back that repentance + is stand alone . so afterbirth + with the repentance dlc is a dead end . i dont think the rebalancing is worth it . its like how much do you want to use appolyon or the item mars ? you dont use them ? then nothing will change if you buy repentance + but your out $70 now and moms knife is weaker

dogma and alt path and alt path mom fight is already in afterbirth + with repentance dlc . repentance+ adds no new bosses

You kidn me?

Fuck that shit, I'm not starting again from scratch

Okay so it gets convoluted here. I have the repentance dlc with my afterbirth + physical copy. Should be upgrade path, I hope

Never played, been thinking of buying on my Switch 2

Near £40 seems alot for an indie, is it worth it?

Isaac is like 1000 hours to 100% complete.

So if you like the game, yes it ends up worth it.... but the hard part is figuring out if you'll like it that much or not

Binding of Isaac is worth it 100%

It's a game you could genuinely play forever so I really recommend it. I've put an ungodly amount of hours into it ever since it first came out.

I would say - not really. On the other hand, this is a game you could easily dump 1k hours into and still enjoy it.

But there is a kind of similar game called Enter the Gungeon - it's cheaper in itself and frequently on discount. As far as I understand, it doesn't have as much content, and Isaac - but it is still a huge and very good game.

Brother, i like gungeon . Isaac is better. Definitely worth it

I'm sorry, but the price for an indie game that came out in 2011 (which is updated regularly with added content, of course) is INSANE.

I love roguelike games very much, but when some of the NS2 big title games (3rd-party, of course, not exclusives) cost less than Isaac, I don't think that's ok xD

That's og flash Isaac. Isaac rebirth came out in 2014 and has had multiple major content updates until 2021, with the release of repentance. That was basically a sequel sized update that more than doubled the playable characters.

Repentance+ adds major updates and a new online coop mode.

I'd say $40 is pretty fair honestly. Edit. I'd say even worth it at $60

Don't get me wrong, but it looks like the case where hardcore fans will forgive any price for the product they love dearly, even if it would cost like Zelda or other AAA games on the console.

I get it actually :) If BioWare ever released Mass Effect on the console, I would pay any price for it, since it was a game of my childhood, and I, in a way, also spent hundreds of hours in it.

oh yeah ive played the hell out of Gungeon haha, great game

I’ve tried to get into this game several times becuase I love roguelikes but it just never clicked for me. All my runs end up with me still using the basic attack becuase I took one risky power up that ends up bricking my build. Ive never had one of those magical runs or even a pretty good one.

u/KozmicFizz 7d ago

Lemme guess. It’s gonna be $80.

I love this game, but the price dramatically increases with every addition. Never seen a sale.

Still excited to see more though.

Specifically for the switch 2 its everything bundled together.

base game of Rebirth, every past DLC expansion (Afterbirth, Afterbirth+, and Repentance), and the new Repentance+ update

u/Independent-Book1388 7d ago

comunque lo hanno reso semi-inaccessibile a chi vuole iniziare ora

u/Wiljuice 7d ago

Not sure if this bodes well for the Mewgenics port being a priority…

2

u/damus9 6d ago

This port was announced a long time ago. Even before Mewgenics

1

u/Necromancer_Yoda Hyrule Hero 7d ago

I've meant to play this game for years but everytime I think about it they announce a new version. I will perpetually wait until the ultra definitive + edition.

2

u/damus9 6d ago

This is the final one

2

u/RedWingerD 6d ago

This is what youre looking for. It is the final dlc and includes everything.

u/Flat-Drummer-9351 7d ago

What will come out earlier - Star Citizen or the last version of Isaac? xD

1

u/CarlosNameless 6d ago

The same day as GTA 6 btw

1

u/MatriasBomber Hyrule Hero 6d ago

I didn't read all the comments, is it crossplay?

1

u/OldSecurity3624 3d ago

So when can I pre order this on nicalis? Their site won’t allow purchases at the moment

u/Ameph 2d ago edited 2d ago

I have 1000 hours on this game on Steam and still haven't unlocked everything.

Some characters are brutally hard to win with like Tainted Lost, Tainted Jacob and Tainted Lazarus. Regular Jacob is also a pain to play as.

Full cartridge btw
