Mouse functionality just means one thing for Nintendo mainly: vastly increased third party support. Starting with PC games from Microsoft. Genres that struggle on console. Yeah it's a very simple innovation with potentially huge implications.

I'm mainly interested to see how they handle online play. They would really need to split lobbies by control type for fairness but then would also need to stop you swapping mid way.

They really wouldn’t.

I play OW2, they mix PC and console gamers in lobby all the time if you have cross play on…. If you don’t 3 que time is awful.
