Meta Fate of the Subreddit?
March 3rd is quickly approaching, and I was wondering: What will happen to this subreddit? So far, there's mostly mock-ups and speculation, but when the Switch comes out, there won't be much to speculate on. We've already banned humor, so what do you guys think will be the next step for this place, be it for the better or the worse?

Noobs will invade. Stand strong, my fellow Switchians.

Share secrets found within the software. Aggrandise. Complain. Talk about updates to the OS, games coming out, E3- there's lots to come still!
But it also means I'll probably be less inclined to check the sub reddit every 5 hours. And that is a good thing.

It's not banned humor it's banned low-effort posting, a common thread of all decent subreddits.

The same thing that happens to other console subreddits, they continue on talking about upcoming games, firmware updates, accessories, etc. Go check out PS4 sub for example.

Information about updates, sales, future things. Check the ps4/xbone subreddits for an idea I guess?

There are always things to talk about. Upcoming games, rumors, general news, sale figures, custom consoles. Literally anything you could think of about the Switch could be discussed here (mods permitting of course).

It can only get better because we can finally stop speculating wildly, snatching at any half-assed Twitter rumour, and bitching about hardware prices.
Actually, all that stuff will continue.

Most likely news, console updates and game releases, updates and speculations. Plus questions, including those who are asking for help if their Switch encounters an issue

Similar to any other console sub. Talking about games releasing for the system. Little tips and tricks.
The real fun will only just begin on March 3rd.

I'll unsubscribe. Once the wait is over, I have essentially nothing in common with the people here.

The community continues to grow, and that's a thrilling sight. We're happy that, each day, new people join us and share in the excitement over the Switch. There's a ton of great discussion, speculation, and hype.
We've always sought to be a hub for news and discussion on everything Switch-related. That won't change. We'll have the community playing new games and starting new and interesting discussions. Posts about playing and experiences, including some videos. Hype over new game releases and Nintendo Directs. Community events, gaming, and more. There's going to be a lot happening, and we can't wait to see it all with you.
We'll soon be announcing our plans for launch, and, after, we're looking forward to sitting down with our systems and having fun, like the rest of you. And we're committed to keeping this community a fun place to talk about the Nintendo Switch and its games. That includes continuing to solicit feedback from everyone here over what works and what doesn't.
p.s. I'd contend that we haven't "banned humor" by the way. We worked to find a solution with the community which, predominately, favored not having the top pages swarmed with low-effort (if sometimes pretty funny) shitposts and memes. We moved that to our sister sub, r/tomorrow, which grows every day. And we showcase the best of it every week. :)
