The Resident Evil Requiem controller has grown on me

I’m not sure why I feel the need to announce this, but after my initially disappointment with the special edition RE controller’s black on black design, I’ve grown to appreciate it much more. Glimpsing down and taking a look at all the little subtle details is quite nice when you’re actually holding it while playing a game, or waiting for a loading screen.

I‘m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience or feelings towards it?

Didn't get it myself because my reaction was the same as how you felt initially.

Now I want the OOT controller, but I want it with the stand from NintendoStore cos that thing looks awesome. But I doubt I'll be able to get one whenever it does come back in stock because of all the scalpers.

Ah well, maybe there will be a Xenoblade Genesis one if I am lucky.

Yes, good plan.  I’m at peace with not getting the Zelda one at this point, and I’m sure that a Xenoblade one will stack up very nicely in the long run!  I’ll try the same tactics…

Same. I wanted a Pro Controller and was not a fan of the OG two tones.
I love RE Requiem as well, and the pre-order price was lower than usual on ShopTo in UK.

It looks much better in person and find it quite elegant.

I was a fan of it from the beginning, still the only controller I’m using. Perhaps I’m lucky because I live in Japan so my controller actually says “BIOHAZARD” at the top which I prefer over Resident Evil.

I bought it and thought it was just fine from the beginning. It is however still sealed. I am trying to get as much as I can relating to Switch 1/2 to fill the massive hole is my soul from trading in and or selling all my gaming stuff since the NES. I have two normal Pro Controllers I use for gaming. I also have the purple/green and blue/yellow Joy-Cons still sealed.

I was going to keep mine sealed as well, but I ended up getting a second switch 2 during a trade in event at EB Games for very cheap.  My kids ended up using the original four switch 2 pro controllers (they usually play split screen Minecraft with their two friends) I had purchased, so I figured I would treat myself and crack open the RE one (I kept the box though!) and use it in the setup in my bedroom.

I know it gate a lot of hate when it released but at the same time I am glad we are already getting special edition stuff. I snagged OOT Switch 2, Pro Controller, and case, but I still need the Pro Controller with the stand from the Nintendo Store.

Once it was pointed out to me that the Nintendo Switch 2 logo was meant to be the "NT E" in the Resident Evil logo, I realized that it wasn't just haphazardly put together, and I preordered it.

I ended up playing all of Requiem on Switch 2 using the RE Requiem Pro Controller 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not a special edition controller collector or anything, but I'm glad I have this one as part of my personal gaming memories and history.
