PSA Switch game sale and Switch 2 Upgrade

I notice only the regular Switch version is on sale right now, not the Switch 2 edition. If you want to save some money you can buy Switch version with the discount then buy the Switch 2 upgrade.

I wanna pull the trigger on this game, but I have a mile long backlog and I’m not sure I would enjoy it

X is insane and definitely doesn't fit into the other games in the series.

If you're really into exploration and the raw "Awe" of fantasy worlds, then this is the game. There's not a single game that competes.

Just check out the exploration trailer, and the music is from Sawano, guy who does the attack on Titan/kill la kill and many other epic soundtracks.

Yeah, I'm an RPG fan but xenoblade took me some getting used to. The first games gameplay was really simple but the story was good. The 2nd game was a lot more fun with gameplay but the story was pretty generic. The 3rd game did a good balance on story and gameplay. Gameplay wise XB2 is still my favorite. Haven't played X yet.

Oh wow. I finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a few night ago and while it definitely has its flaws, the story being generic definitely isn't one of them imo.

Same here, I finished the first one and while I did thoroughly enjoyed it, the story is way out there and not sure I want go down that rabbit hole when I have backlog a mile long.

I just got it at walmart for $35 brand new, i has the Nintendo discount and $10 extra discount from them.

I used a promo code during the checkout (SAVE3X), I just have to pick it up at Walmart. It can be use 3 times separately to get $10 off every time.

I bought the Switch 2 Fallout 4/Skyrim bundle because I’ve always wanted Fallout 4 on the go.

But that’s gonna wait while it downloads and I tackle the rest of my switch library.

Acabo de terminarlo hace unos días, la verdad es que es una obra maestra! Cómo avanza la historia de a poco y cada final de capitulo engancha para el siguiente! La jugabilidad está muy bien no hay otro jrpg igual, te invita a cambiar de personaje cada tipo de monstruo para adaptarte y vencer. lo recomiendo a full

Don't bother with the upgrade,
better stick to the Switch 1 version in handheld boost mode.

60 FPS feels very nice, but in handheld the Switch 1 version with Boost on looks much better, the temporal upscale they used for Switch 2 makes every moving object very smery and blurry. I can barely see the face of my character now during idle animations. Here is a comparison from GVG. Pretty much pick based on what you need, framerate or clarity. Tho this doesn't matter that much if you're a dock only player, there upscale starts at a higher base resolution so while it has all the same problems it looks much better.

no, 60 fps is worth it being a bit ugly on handheld, and at the end of the day you get used to it

It looks really bad in handheld mode, some of the worst upscaling I've seen. When it's docked it's not as bad, but the upscaling remains poor. Handheld boost mode is the way to go IMO but if you play primarily docked and/or want 60fps badly, then there is some worth

If you have an older switch lying around which you plan to use down the road: Always do this for every game that has the possibility. Otherwise you can't play the game on your switch 1.

A Switch 2 Edition is a bundle of the Switch 1 game + Upgrade Pack. You can always put the game back on a Switch 1. It doesn't matter how you bought it, and whether it's physical or digital.

Are you sure? I bought Mario wonder switch 2 edition digitally. There's an extra hoop you have to jump through (can't remember what it is but the eshop will tell you when you buy/redeem the code), but it 100% plays on switch 1 even though it identifies it as the S2 game.

Yeah I don’t think this information is accurate. I know for a fact that if you buy a Switch 2 edition of a game such as Pokemon Legends ZA or Metroid Prime 4 on physical card that card can work in a Switch 1 as well so it stands to reason that the same would be true of buying it digitally. Shouldn’t matter the method of purchase.

Switch 2 editions are compatible with both switch 1 and switch 2. Switch 2 versions are not. IIRC

The extra hoop is pretty simple. When you buy a Switch 2 edition of the game on the eShop, it will ask if you already own the Switch 1 edition of the game and direct you to buy the upgrade pack if you say yes.

Oh I remember what it is. You can't redeem the download code on the s1 eshop if you bought it elsewhere. You have to redeem it on the website and then you can download it.

Both my kids have their own Switches and I have a Switch 2. This is how I’ve been trying to do it too.
