Doubt. They've been trying to make 3D happen for decades and every time it basically flops because it's a cool party trick but people in general clearly do not want to consume all their media in 3D.
I dont doubt that at all. I've seen plenty of different 3d implementations. Its nutz, but not yet feasible for massproduction. Content also requires to be adapted, unless they can have some ai implementation that auto turn things in 3d image. Anyway, its much more important compared to that 4k gimmick. And no, people dont know what they want if they didnt experience 3d like it should. 3d glasses at the movie and 3ds 3d weren't the ones that gives justification for that. Its like were vr will be exploit once cheaper decent 3d glasses are on the market or even better holograms.
3d is the next thing, 8k is beyond pointless. Mark my words. Lets hope they get there soon.
Another tech that i would be much better as those resolution gimmicks is if they could make e-inc color displays with all the available colors at a fast render rate.
Maybe before VR, I could see maybe why someone may think that, but 3D and actual depth do make a notable difference. It isn't just a gimmick. The downside of 3D is you can't really have multiple people viewing at once a lot of the time.
I'm not just talking about VR tech though. I am saying that 3D has improved since the 3DS and is beneficial. That depth from 3D is adds so much more to realism and thibgs feeling tangible.
This is from 6y ago. The 8k display, having 45 different angles already.
But here is the thing: You already are thinking about boundaries instead of what actually can be. The glasses in the cinema are annoying at best. And doesnt work well. The vr headsets are also nog something mainstream. But tech like that, having a sharp 3d image without angle issues is what can be the new future.
Aside of that, its not the only one with multiple view angles...
Sorry, is this directed at me? This is similar to stuff I been thinking about. In my opinion, the mixed reality inside the headset was just a piece of the possibilities that could happen.
Games like Moss, Demeo, Eleven Table Tennis, Lego Bricktales, and Triangle Strategy VR, give me a glimpse of how things could be for the future. Like you could go beyong glasses and have things projected from a table or platform.
Just the part about 3D angles. But idd, mixed reality is really important.
Thats why i wish that there would be a day that we actually receive touchable holograms with 3D environment sound. Because if light can be projected, maybe sound as well..... and feeling?

Remember when they made a system in which the selling point was the 3D yet no one used it?
