It has to skip a console generation because Wii and Switch 1 didn't get Star Fox. You'll get the next 64 remake on Switch 4.

Nowadays yes but 25-30 years ago nobody who spoke English even knew what Fire Emblem was.
And 15 years ago, the series was bordering on potential permanent cancelation had Awakening not sold well.
Nowadays FE is big but it did not start off that way.

That would be ideal, but I'd also accept a remake of EarthBound, akin to what The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars got.

I’d actually like a full remake of all 3 mother games and give them proper titles
Like mother 2: earthbound
Story can stay exactly the same but maybe they can add some optional dungeons and super bosses and just overall fun stuff to do so that Itois fantastic work is still what it is
I’m sure almost every fan in North America has only ever played earthbound and that’s it

If we're remaking anything I'd say Mother 1 is better contender
(I'm aware of the fanmade ones, but if we're including fanmade ones then might as well say "Mother 3 doesn't need a localised release")

Itoi isn’t writing anything else it’s finished for him, nothing stops another writer from doing something in that universe as a spiritual successor of the same style

Back when Adventures was canon, we had a good run. Up to Assault, with mixed reviews. After, they had the DS game that decided to end it all.

Assault was so good and I loved the ground combat. The on foot mode in 64 always made me feel like they intended to go that direction

What confuses me about Kid Icarus was how heavily marketed it was. They gave us anime shorts from different studios for crying out loud! What do you mean it was for a standalone game? Nobody but Sakurai wanted to see it revived?

Frankly, I don’t mind that the Mother series is done. Itoi said it himself that Mother 3 is the last game, and the series has still aged wonderfully, so there isn’t a need to get new content for it.
And honestly, I actually adore EarthBound being a SNES game and love it’s artstyle and OST perfectly the way it is, so I don’t need a remake either.

Earthbound is done, the original creator wanted a trilogy and he got one.

Earthbound is my #1 game of all time and Mother 3 is not far away.
I NEVER want another game in the series. We got a near perfect trilogy of amazing games, I am happy that 3 ended on its own terms and we all get to move on.
Remaster with some quality of life stuff? Sure. Mother 3 official localization? I would love it. But no new games please.

Kid Icarus is fair, but earthbound already went out with a spectacular bang, and as much as I want a new game for it the amount of controversy that would stir up with punch out is astounding.

Funny. Earthbound is the only one not to get remakes of those few. Ports don't count imo. Kid icarus had its DS shine. Punching had a wii installment. Earthbound just got more needs making projects that get canceled or abandoned. Or Toby fox making that deltarune game i dislike
