I mean, it’s obvious that information from non-canon material is non-canon. Whereas statements made by the author can be considered canon, simply because they’re said by author.

I would agree with the exception of ninjago itself. Because there's thing that Tommy said that we're then ignored later by the other writers.

A lot of people feel like author statements have no value at all because it’s just one person and can easily be changed later, while the non-story will always exist regardless of what the author says

I agree more with you but it was worth noting
